Maxine is talented interior stylist and award winning lifestyle blogger who lives in Brighton, along with her dog Teddy. You'll undoubtedly have seen her work on TV and in magazines everywhere, with countless features in Ideal Home, The Guardian and Marie Claire. She knows a thing or two about paint colours too, and her beautifully sunny home sure reflects that. Maxine has worked closely with COAT to create and launch the most bouncy spring Peach - “Kitchen Disco”, a true peach that's here for those who want to pop a bottle and add fun into their home.
Maxine's Kitchen was beautifully muted, but called for some colour
“I love bold fun colours” says Maxine. “I wanted to create a shade that was bright, warm and joyful that could be used on walls and furniture. It's a shade that you can have fun with. Living in Brighton, I love the energy of this vibrant city - and I was drawn to the pinky orange hues of the beach sunsets here. Kitchen Disco is a really fun and positive shade ”.

This wall was crying out for a pop of the perfect Peach
“When it comes to colour I find inspiration in unexpected places. From a piece of graffiti art, old books, or even my collection of vintage clothes" Says Maxine. "I picked out this Peach from a selection of colour mixes from COAT as it's such a happy shade, making me smile instantly. Top of my list is a fun colour - and that's where the idea for the name 'Kitchen Disco' came from. As someone who likes nothing more than cranking up the tunes and letting go!"
Kitchen Disco is the perfect Peach, sitting beautifully with sage units
Pastels are doing their thing this year, and Kitchen Disco is the perfect example of a true pastel Peach. Pastels need to be bold enough to feel deliberate, but never lairy. Kitchen Disco adds character to Maxine's insta-famous kitchen without totally dominating the space. It's the perfect retro shade that works just as well in modern homes as with period details - complementing so many other shades from monochrome to greens, pinks and even navy blue.
“COAT for me is an exciting new paint brand, and I love their sustainable ethos” says Maxine. “As an interior stylist I understand that choosing paint shades can be a challenge. That's why I love COAT's carefully edited selection of colours. It takes the stress out of decorating your home. The paint is a dream to work with, too.”
Kitchen Disco: the perfect pastel peach does exist!
How to use Kitchen Disco at home then. Like the name suggests, it’s a fun colour that will bring character to any space. In smaller rooms try painting a feature wall like Maxine for a bold statement. Or for a tonal look, paint the walls and woodwork in this same shade - especially in bright south-facing spaces. Want a hit of colour - Kitchen Disco is the one! Try up-cycling furniture, woodwork or even your window frames in this energising shade with COAT's Eggshell wood paint.
“I wanted to give my kitchen a little makeover with Kitchen Disco and from the first COAT it transformed the space. It's so warm and inviting in here now” Says Maxine “To add personality to my living room, I painted a wooden cabinet with Kitchen Disco to match my blush sofa. The up-cycled unit looks so good against the white walls."
