So you may have heard…we’re officially a B Corp 🎉 It’s been a long ride and it took a lot of hard work to get here but we’re extremely proud to have joined the mission. Sustainability has been at our core since day one and for us B Corp is a constant reminder to do things differently, with the people and our planet always top of our minds.
Since it’s B Corp Month, we want to show our support for our B Corp friends that are on the same journey, going beyond business as usual. We’re not in it alone, we want to encourage more brands to commit to looking after the planet and its people for the long-term. This year's theme is We Go Beyond, and we want to showcase what is possible when like-minded brands come together to educate their audiences about how we can all do better.
Plank
One of our homeware pals have only gone and done it. Plank are the first hardware brand to achieve B Corp status, and we’re super proud. They’re continually challenging material choices and design processes, whilst only employing suppliers that align with its goals.
Neom
The go-to housewarming present, Neom have played a huge role in peoples’ homes for years and it’s inspiring to find out more about their journey. Not only do Neom use sustainable and natural ingredients, their wellbeing hubs run on renewable energy, they support the mental health foundation and have built a culture focused on being kind. Can’t wait to see what else they have planned…
The Modern House
I’m sure we’ve all been guilty of scrolling through The Modern House’s Instagram feed dreaming of the home we’ll have ‘when we grow up’. Unlike the others on this list, The Modern House isn’t a brand, they’re a London-based estate agent who are helping people live in more thoughtful and beautiful ways. They recognise that thoughtful design isn’t just about aesthetics, but about having a positive environmental, social and cultural impact too.
Ocean Bottle
We love a colourful water bottle in the office, and one of our fave brands is Ocean Bottle. They’re a people powered solution to the plastic pollution problem. For every 1 bottle sold, 1000 plastic bottles are collected. Their goal is to collect 7 billion bottles by 2025, so let’s help them get there.
Nkuku
Who doesn’t dream of owning a home filled with Nkuku furniture and accessories? They’re leading the way with ethical homewares by using eco-friendly materials and by sustaining handmade traditional skills through fair and transparent relationships with their makers. Each piece is crafted by hand by artisans throughout the world, ensuring every product tells a story.
Ace & Tate
Not only do they create really cool glasses and sunglasses in a variety of shapes and colours, they stand apart from their competitors because of their radical honesty. Ace & Tate are not afraid to admit that they’ve not always made the best decisions, but they’re learning, as we all are.
Wilton
Just like us, Wilton London recognised that you don’t need nasty ingredients to create high quality and effective products. So they’ve ditched the nasty stuff and swapped them with naturally derived alternatives, creating a range of botanical scents where essential oils sit centre stage. You’ve got to smell them for yourselves.
Wild
You can’t have missed these guys, they’ve been flooding our Instagram feeds for a while now, and we’re here for it. With natural, plastic-free and refillable deodorants, Wild are on a mission to banish single-use bathroom plastics. We’re sold on their packaging alone.
Pentire
A lot of people have made the decision to extend dry January, deciding that a headache free life is far more appealing. Pentire drinks are the perfect non-alcoholic alternative, using natural and sustainably sourced flavours to create a range of tasty tipples. They’re a zero-waste business that donates to the Blue Marine Foundation and are committed to preserving the natural environment by sourcing the majority of their ingredients from local organic farmers.
Patagonia
They’re a biggie but we can’t ignore them, they’re the B Corp poster child for a reason. Patagonia are the top-scorers for community initiatives, as well as on the list of best companies for the environment. Always working on changing their business practices and sharing what they’ve learnt along the way, we’re definitely taking notes.
And there you have it, it was hard to narrow it down to just ten but we did it. Cheers to everyone who’s helped us on this journey, here's more info on what makes us B Corp, feel free to drop us a message if you have any questions ✌️
