Margate House is a beautifully considered, design-led bolthole that wears its personality without apology. And now, it wears our bespoke palette of paint colours in an equally deliberate way. Both COAT and Margate House founders worked closely to conceptualise the shades. Every room at Margate House is now home to one (or more) of our six new shades. The result is something that feels both deliberate and effortless - which, if you know COAT, is exactly the point.

The partnership felt like a natural home to bring-to-life colours that were always going to be a little different - in all the right ways. Northdown Drift
Northdown Drift is a warm, wet-sand neutral that feels easy from the start. Soft and natural, it brings warmth without ever taking over. The kind of colour you don’t have to think twice about - it’s understated, versatile, and comfortable in just about any setting.
Evening, Ethel
Evening, Ethel is a muted blush with a gentle sort of presence. The kind of colour that’s deliberate enough to notice, but you’ll never feel overwhelmed by. This shade softens a room without fuss. It makes things feel a little more lived-in, a little more considered - as though everything’s just fallen into place, nicely.
Love Lane
Love Lane is a dusky rose with a lived-in kind of warmth. Soft, and deliberately a little sun-faded. It feels like it’s been part of your story for a while.
Dirty Sherbet
Dirty Sherbet is a pale peachy neutral with a soft, chalky edge. Light, warm, and just a little bit playful. It lifts a space without being loud. It’s the kind of colour that feels familiar and fun, but slightly refined.
Shell Grotto
Shell Grotto is a calm, stony off-white with a grounded feel. It’s more of an ivory or shell colour, with the right balance of warmth and refinement. It holds a space together without drawing focus. The kind of backdrop that’s deliberate, with lets everything else do its thing.
Wilderness Hill
People like Red. It’s powerful. It’s the kind of colour that holds its own. Grounded, a little dramatic, but easy to live with - if you choose the right shade. You want this sort of red, that makes everything around it feel more considered - without shouting too loud.
