Comfort, safety, meaning. The Colours We Keep is a ten-shade collection named after things, places and rituals that can't be thrown away.
The Colours
Some colours you choose. Others feel like they’ve always been yours.We built this collection around memory, and the instinctive pull of the places and moments we hold on to. A footpath walked a hundred times. A map folded the wrong way. A story read aloud at bedtime. Ten shades, each one named after the things people keep. Everything else is speeding up, but that feeling isn’t. So rather than chase trends, these colours sit outside them, which is exactly where COAT has always been. Every one is balanced for British light, and made to order in the UK when you need it. Memory, comfort and belonging. It’s what we want from our homes now, more than ever.

Ten New Shades
Colour is something we feel before we see it. When we began creating our new shades, we looked past trends and towards memory, to the colours that come from a place no AI or digital world, however fast, can take from us. This is the story of how The Colours We Keep came to be, and why familiarity and belonging felt like exactly what our homes needed.

Earthy Reds & Browns
The colours of things that have been well used and well loved. A rescued armchair, a rain-soaked notebook, a muddy walk home. Rambler is a deep chestnut with wine in it. Scout’s Honour is a brick red with real confidence, and One Man’s Trash is a khaki brown with a touch of green beneath the surface. Field Notes is a warm near-black that grounds the lot. These are rich and characterful colours that only get better with time, like everything worth keeping.
Blues & Greens
The colours of open roads, long walks and stories read aloud. Cassette is the softest dusty blue, with an analogue charm that stays calm in any room. Fable is a quiet teal that reads more sage than sea, like a favourite hardback read a hundred times. Best in Show is a light, sun-bleached olive, all cut grass and spring sun. And Cross Country is our liveable take on chartreuse, with golden undertones that bring the late afternoon indoors. Fresh, familiar and easy to keep for years.
Soft Pinks & Neutrals
The colours of Saturday markets and things made by hand. Portobello is a sun-beaten, worn-in pink with real soul, and a market-stall patina that feels like it’s been there forever. Cross Stitch is a soft beige with buttery undertones, like linen left out to dry. Together they bring gentle warmth to a room without a hint of sweetness, and they’re easy to live with for years.
