We're proud of our luxury paint products and sustainable approach. But while our mission is to help people create spaces that they love, we know there are still people in the UK without four walls to call home.
That imbalance, in 2021, just doesn't sit right with us.
COAT founders Rob & Rob have decided to support Crisis, the national charity against homelessness. We'll be donating some of our company profits or turnover to crisis - to play our part in supporting the battle against homelessness. It's not a silver bullet, but it's important to us that businesses like ours help to level the playing field.
Who Are Crisis? What Do They Do?
Crisis are the national charity against homelessness, and have been around for over 50 years. Crisis help people out of homelessness, and campaign for the changes needed to solve it altogether. From mediating with landlords, providing training and education, helping people: apply for universal credit, find jobs, access healthcare, they do it all.
What we love about Crisis is that they go beyond immediate support. There is, unfortunately, a real need for the immediate services of shelters and food banks - but Crisis look to tackle the more systemic causes of homeless to help folks out of it for good.
Crisis help people see homelessness as a part of their history, and not as something that defines them.
Since July last year, Crisis have helped permanently end homelessness for 2,000 people in the UK - an incredible achievement. They have supported more than 11,000 people in their journey out of homelessness in the last year, and have almost 12,000 volunteers who have helped them achieve this, as well as corporate partners like us. Pretty impressive.
As we take steps to improve our own homes with a fresh paint job - with COAT you're supporting those without one too. That sort of regenerative business is exactly what the world needs in so many ways. So, thank you ❤️
